Supporting Music in Our Schools

Meet Jason Mosall!
Mr. Mosall knew he wanted to be a musician from an early age. In 7th grade, he began practicing very regularly. By his teen years, he was splitting his free time between playing in a ska band and playing in a youth orchestra, sometimes playing concerts of both on the same day.
After high school, he went on to college at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, New York where he majored in trumpet performance. By junior year, he was principal of the Crane Symphony Orchestra. Mosall was also an active participant in chamber music and was a recipient of performance grants to play all over the state of New York in schools, parks, prisons and concert halls.
After graduation, Mosall continued his study of music and eventually auditioned to go to grad school. He was accepted and offered a full scholarship to James Madison and Arizona State to study trumpet performance. Mosall opted to go to Arizona State where he received a master's degree in orchestral performance. While in Arizona, he auditioned and became the principal trumpet of the Musica Nova Orchestra in Scottsdale, Arizona, a position he held until he moved 4 years later.
Mosall then began learning jazz. He then moved to Western Massachusetts to play in a jazz group that was employed at Six Flags, New England. While there, he acquired a large studio of trumpet students and eventually learned about the quality music program in Belchertown schools. After teaching privately for several years, Mosall applied for the CHCS instrumental band position and is still happily teaching in our town to this day (16 years).

About the BBB
Belchertown Music Boosters is a 501(c) (301) comprised of volunteers who are parents and friends of the band, choir and general music students in the Belchertown Public Schools.
Who do we support?
We support the many and varied band, choir and music classes and activities by fundraising, organizing, and chaperoning events for grades K-12.
Where does the money raised go?
The funds we raise are allocated directly to the bands and choirs to support various initiatives, including awards, receptions, instrument lesson subsidies, summer music camp tuition, field trips, music clinics, uniforms, and college scholarships. Recently, we contributed to the purchase of brand new marching percussion instruments for the high school and harnesses for the middle school.
